It’s not just footballer’s wages that have come under scrutiny; across the Premier League, clubs have been coming under criticism for making use of a government furloughing scheme to save imbursing their lower-paid staff.
With more money than ever in football and less money than ever in the economy, people are asking questions about football’s relationship to wealth.
